FKF REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES UNITE AGAINST PETTINESS, DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY .

In a surprising turn of events, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) found itself under scrutiny as members from the North Eastern and Eastern regions expressed strong disapproval during an emergency press conference. The press conference, called with great anticipation for discussions on critical matters like the OB van controversy, missing COVID funds, FIFA for school balls program mismanagement, and the hosting of CHAN in 2024, instead focused solely on one individual - Hussein Mohammed.
From Left; Chairman FKF Nyamira Luthers Mokua, NEC Member Nabea Muriithi, Muranga Seal FC Chairman Robert Macharia, North Eastern NEC member Dabar Ahmedqadar and Secretary General KPPSA Harold Ndege address the press at Swiss Lenana Hotel on March 14, 2024.
The assembled members, representing various clubs and regions, were quick to condemn what they termed as "pettiness and mediocrity" in the handling of the press conference agenda. They emphasized that pressing issues that demand attention and transparency were sidelined for a single individual matter, which they deemed inconsequential in comparison to larger organizational challenges.
The core of the discontent revolved around the attempt to disallow Murang’a SEAL FC from sending Vice Chairman Hussein Mohammed as their representative to certain meetings, citing eligibility concerns. FKF members from the North Eastern and Eastern regions asserted that such actions blatantly disregarded the FKF Constitution, which clearly outlines guidelines for meetings and the rights of clubs to choose their representatives.
One member passionately stated, "Any assertion that Mr. Mohammed's attendance is 'ineligible' is baseless and lacks merit, particularly when it comes from individuals whose authority does not extend to dictating clubs' choices of representation."
The unity among the FKF members from these regions was evident as they stood in solidarity with Murang’a SEAL FC and any other club exercising their rights under the FKF Constitution. They emphasized the importance of upholding organizational integrity by respecting established rules and ensuring fair treatment of all members.
As the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) looms, these FKF members urge all stakeholders to prioritize transparency, inclusivity, and respect for the rule of law. They believe that honoring these principles is crucial for the continued progress and success of Kenyan football.
In conclusion, the words of Julius Caesar echoed through the press conference venue: "Cowards die many times before their deaths," serving as a reminder of the courage needed to address pressing issues and uphold the principles of fairness and accountability within the Football Kenya Federation.
