WORLD VISION LAUNCHES "ENOUGH" CAMPAIGN TO COMBAT CHILD HUNGER AND MALNUTRITION IN KENYA.

World Vision Kenya has announced the commencement of a groundbreaking campaign titled "ENOUGH," dedicated to addressing the critical issue of child hunger and malnutrition across Kenya. This initiative aims to provide children with access to nutritious food, promoting their well-being and overall development.
World Vision Launches "ENOUGH" Campaign to End Child Hunger and Malnutrition in Kenya.

The campaign comes in response to the alarming statistics revealing that nearly 900,000 Kenyan children between the ages of 6 to 59 months urgently require assistance due to acute malnutrition and food insecurity. Factors contributing to this crisis include recurring droughts in arid counties, inadequate child-feeding practices, and elevated disease rates.

World Vision's overarching objective is to elevate the nutritional status of vulnerable children in Kenya through targeted interventions, particularly focusing on alleviating hunger in the most impacted communities over the next three years.

According to the 2023 Global Hunger Index (GHI), Kenya is ranked 90th out of 121 countries, with a score of 22.0, indicating a significant level of hunger within the nation.

Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, Rachel Ruto E.G.H, has commended World Vision for its proactive stance in launching this campaign. She emphasized the importance of ensuring that every child has access to sufficient and nutritious food, both at home and in educational institutions, while advocating for ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.

H.E Rachel Ruto stated, "There's no greater indignity than children attending school hungry. We've made significant strides in nutrition improvement, yet 847,000 Kenyan children under five still face acute malnutrition. We must unite efforts across food security, health, nutrition, and finance to achieve our goal of less than 5% childhood wasting by 2025."

The "ENOUGH" campaign aims to not only tackle immediate nutritional challenges but also to lay the groundwork for sustainable solutions that will positively impact the future health and well-being of Kenya's children.
