The bootcamp featured a series of masterclasses led by industry experts, covering essential topics such as financial literacy, tech skills, and career readiness. "The Safaricom Hook Circle aims to connect youth across Kenya to opportunities that will propel them toward success in their areas of interest," stated Fawzia Ali, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom PLC.

The initiative is structured around three key pillars: Technology, Career, and Culture. The Technology Hook provided participants with skills for a tech-driven future, thanks to partnerships with organizations like Power Learn Project and Avunja Mobile. The Career Hook included workshops from Brighter Monday and ABSA, focusing on vital skills such as resume building and interview preparation. Meanwhile, the Culture Hook explored how to monetize creative talents, featuring insights from industry leaders including Elevate and Baze Radio.

Recognizing the holistic needs of youth, the bootcamp also emphasized mental health and financial literacy, with sessions led by Chiromo Hospital and Old Mutual. These discussions highlighted the importance of well-being and sound financial practices as participants navigate their career paths.

Looking ahead, the Safaricom Hook Circle plans to offer 600 technology scholarships, career training for 4,000 youth, and 15 internship opportunities. Additionally, over 3,000 participants will have access to influencer sales jobs through Twiva, while Transsion will provide device financing options.

With an emphasis on mentorship and skills development, the Safaricom Hook Circle is poised to equip Kenya’s youth with the necessary tools to thrive in an evolving job market, fostering connections and opportunities across the country.
