KENYAN YOUTH APPLAUD FIKIRINI JACOBS APPOINTMENT AS PRINCIPAL SECRETARY FOR YOUTH AFFAIRS.

Nairobi, Kenya – A group of young Kenyans has expressed gratitude to President William Ruto and Prime Minister Raila Odinga for appointing Fikirini Katoi Kahindi Jacobs as the Principal Secretary for the State Department of Youth Affairs. The appointment, hailed as a milestone for youth inclusion in governance, has been met with widespread optimism among young leaders across the country.
In a statement signed by spokespersons Sagini Dennis, Peter Maya, and Lewis Moriorio, the youth emphasized that Jacobs’ rise to a top government position symbolizes the breaking of long-standing political barriers that have sidelined young people from decision-making roles.

"Fikirini Jacobs reflects the true picture of a Kenyan boy with a big dream. Born and raised in a small village in Bamba, Ganze Constituency, Kilifi County, his journey through local universities and his experience as a young hustler navigating a system dominated by older political structures make him the perfect fit for this role," the statement read.

The youth movement, operating under the banner of "Team Fikirini Jacobs," described the appointment as a stepping stone toward greater youth representation in the executive. They called for more young leaders to be included in governance, arguing that for too long, youth affairs have remained on the periphery of national priorities.

"We believe there is nothing for us without us. It is time for young people to take a seat at the decision-making table and shape a future we will be proud to leave behind for generations to come," the spokespersons added.

Jacobs’ appointment comes at a time when Kenyan youth are actively pushing for change, and his leadership is expected to play a crucial role in addressing challenges such as unemployment, economic empowerment, and youth participation in governance.

"As the youngest Principal Secretary in modern Kenya, we trust that Comrade Fikirini Jacobs will bring the passion and dedication needed to transform the Youth Affairs docket, which has remained marginalized for far too long," the statement concluded.

The youth called upon their peers across political and tribal divides to support Jacobs in his new role, emphasizing the need for unity in advancing their collective interests.

This appointment signals a shift toward a more inclusive leadership approach, and many young Kenyans will be watching closely to see how Jacobs steers the docket in the coming months.
