RAPID SUPPORT FORCES ANNOUNCE CAPTURE OF AL-ATROON OASIS IN ONGOING DESERT OFFENSIVE.

Khartoum, April 9, 2025 — The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have claimed a significant military victory in Sudan’s ongoing conflict, announcing full control over the strategic Al-Atroon Oasis in the desert region following what they described as a "heroic and successful military operation."
In an official press release issued Wednesday, RSF stated that its forces inflicted heavy losses on opposing troops in both personnel and equipment. The defeated forces were identified as fighters from the Islamic Movement Army and various mercenary groups.
The RSF reported seizing large quantities of military hardware and war supplies during the offensive, characterizing the operation as part of a broader campaign to reclaim Sudanese territory and dismantle what it described as terrorist battalions.
"This field progress is part of our continued operations to restore full sovereignty to the Sudanese people and build a peaceful, just Sudan," read the statement signed by the official RSF spokesperson.
The RSF framed its actions as a step toward a new national order built on justice and peace, dedicating the victory to their fallen soldiers and reaffirming their commitment to what they termed the "Battle for Democracy."
The development marks the latest in a series of military gains by the RSF amid Sudan’s ongoing civil conflict, which has drawn increasing concern from international observers over humanitarian and security implications.
