Rumuruti, Kenya – July 6, 2025.

More than 400 off-road enthusiasts from across East Africa, operating as the Kichaka Patrol Community-Based Organization (CBO), recently concluded a highly successful humanitarian and road safety outreach in Rumuruti, Laikipia County. From June 26 to 28, 2025, the group, alongside various partners, delivered crucial medical, safety, and educational support to underserved communities.

The Rumuruti Medical and Road Safety Outreach Camp saw Kichaka Patrol collaborate with the Kenya Nurses in Diaspora, the County Government of Laikipia, the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA Kenya), the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), and Ridgeways Baptist Church.

A key focus of the initiative was providing free medical consultations and minor treatments to local residents, addressing immediate healthcare needs in the remote area.
Road safety was another significant component, with a targeted program for the local bodaboda (motorcycle taxi) sector. AA Kenya generously donated 100 helmets to riders, a vital step in reducing head injuries and fatalities. The NTSA was also on-site, facilitating registration and logbook issuance, aiming to formalize and improve compliance among motorcycle operators.

The outreach also extended to education and menstrual health. Sanitary pads and learning materials were distributed to four primary schools: Logorate Primary School, Naibor Amani Primary School, Nachola Primary School, and PCEA Tuum Primary School.
Kichaka Patrol, renowned for its off-roading adventures, continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to community service.

The organization consistently partners with both public and private entities to reach areas often overlooked by traditional aid efforts. This latest initiative serves as a powerful example of how volunteerism and cross-sector collaboration can drive sustainable development in Kenya's remote regions.
