RSF CONDEMNS DRONE STRIKE ON NORTH KORDOFAN QURAN SCHOOL, CALLS ATTACK A "WAR CRIME."

Khartoum, Sudan – October 30, 2025.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have accused the Islamic Movement’s army of launching a deadly drone strike on a religious learning center in North Kordofan, killing and injuring dozens of Quran students.
In a statement issued Thursday, the RSF described the incident as “a new crime added to the black record of the terrorist Islamic Movement army,” saying that unmanned aircraft targeted Sheikh Al-Bur’ai Quranic School, a purely civilian religious institution with no military presence.

“The attack resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of Quran students in a horrific massacre that flagrantly violates all international and humanitarian conventions,” the statement read.

Medical teams affiliated with the RSF, along with local authorities, were said to be working to rescue the injured and assess the full extent of the casualties and material damage caused by the attack.

The RSF strongly condemned the strike, calling it “a deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians, educational centers, and places of worship,” and asserted that such actions “constitute a full-fledged war crime that warrants international legal accountability and prosecution.”

The statement ended with prayers for the victims — “mercy and forgiveness for our righteous martyrs” — and reaffirmed the RSF’s stance of defending civilians amid the ongoing conflict.

The RSF has frequently accused the Sudanese Armed Forces and their allied militias of indiscriminate airstrikes on civilian areas. The alleged attack on the North Kordofan Quran school marks one of the deadliest assaults on a religious site in recent months, underscoring growing concern over civilian protection in Sudan’s war-torn regions.
