RSF REJECTS U.S. ADVISOR ’s ACCUSATIONS OVER EL FASHER ATTACK, DENOUNCES “DOUBLE STANDARDS ” by INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have strongly criticized remarks by the U.S. Senior Advisor for African Affairs, Mr. Massad Paulos, and several regional partners involved in the “Peaceful Solution to End the Sudanese Crisis” initiative, accusing them of unfairly blaming the RSF for alleged attacks on a shelter in El Fasher, North Darfur.
In a statement issued on Sunday evening, the RSF expressed “astonishment and dismay” at what it called a hasty condemnation based on “one-sided information and double standards.” The group insisted that El Fasher is currently devoid of civilians, claiming that remaining pockets of resistance consist mainly of “Popular Resistance” and operatives of the “terrorist regime,” who have allegedly converted hospitals and mosques into military sites for launching attacks.

“These groups deliberately disguise their positions within civilian facilities, then manipulate narratives to accuse our forces of targeting civilian areas,” the statement said.

The RSF further accused the Sudanese army and its allies of committing widespread atrocities across Darfur, citing repeated air and drone strikes that have killed thousands of civilians since the conflict began in April 2023. The group listed recent incidents, including an army drone strike on Bolboul Timbisku in South Darfur on October 1 that killed 83 people; an attack on Az-Zurq, North Darfur, on October 2 that left 17 dead; and another drone strike on Kuma, North Darfur, on October 11 that killed 20 civilians.

“These crimes go largely uncondemned by the same international and regional actors who are quick to judge us,” the RSF said, questioning what it described as “a clear bias” and selective accountability.

The group called on the international community, human rights organizations, and mediators to “exercise neutrality, verify information, and refrain from endorsing false allegations designed to distort the truth.” The RSF reiterated its commitment to the rules of engagement and the protection of civilians, while reserving its “legitimate right to self-defense.”

The statement concluded by reaffirming the RSF’s broader objectives: “to dismantle institutions of oppression, combat terrorism, and complete the project of building a Sudan founded on justice, equality, and good governance.”

“May mercy and forgiveness be upon our righteous martyrs,” the statement ended.
