RSF CLAIMS DOWNING OF TURKISH-MADE DRONE STRIKE IN West KORDOFAN AS FIGHTING INTENSIFIES.

Khartoum, Sudan — November 12, 2025.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) says its troops have shot down a Turkish-made Akıncı combat drone at dawn on Wednesday in the Babnousa area of West Kordofan State, marking the second aircraft it claims to have intercepted in the region in recent days.
In a statement released through its official channels, the RSF said the destruction of the Akıncı drone — coming shortly after the downing of an Ilyushin aircraft in the skies over Babnousa — demonstrates what it described as its “full readiness” to repel any aerial attacks or infiltration attempts by forces loyal to the Islamist movement.
The group accused its opponents of repeatedly targeting civilians, terrorizing communities, and destroying critical infrastructure in attempts to destabilize the Kordofan and Darfur regions.
RSF: Army Attempts Are “Death Throes”
The RSF dismissed recent military operations by what it calls the “Islamic Movement Army” and its allied militias, characterizing them as “the final convulsions of a defeated force.” It vowed that its fighters would continue advancing toward what it described as the “fortresses of the terrorist army” with the goal of ending the war and rebuilding Sudan on “new, just foundations” that address longstanding marginalization.
“Our forces move with steadfast determination to crush the strongholds of the terrorist army and end this war in the interest of our people,” the statement read.
Call for Accountability and Tribute to Fallen Fighters
The RSF ended its message by offering condolences to its fallen fighters, describing them as “martyrs,” and reaffirmed its commitment to what it called the “battle for democracy” and the protection of Sudan’s revolution.
The statement underscores the intensifying battle over airspace dominance in West Kordofan, a region that has seen escalating confrontations as both sides seek strategic advantage amid a protracted nationwide conflict.
