The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced on Monday that its fighters had achieved what it described as a “major victory” over forces it identifies as the “Islamic Movement Army and allied mercenaries” in the Umm Sayala area of North Kordofan State.
According to a statement issued by the RSF spokesperson, the group said its units launched an operation that led to the destruction of what it called “a full enemy convoy,” pursuing retreating fighters toward the Al-Alqa area in White Nile State.

The RSF claimed the confrontation resulted in more than 470 opposing fighters killed, along with the capture of over 60 military vehicles and the destruction of more than 30 others. The group asserted that the battle “eliminated any ambitions” by its adversaries to control the area.
These figures could not be independently verified, and no comment was immediately available from the opposing forces.

The statement said RSF troops remain “fully alert and ready” to counter any future movements by the Islamic Movement-aligned forces, reiterating the group’s commitment to continue advancing “until full liberation” and the dismantling of what it called an “organization of terrorists.”

The spokesperson concluded the statement by honoring RSF fighters killed in the conflict and reaffirming the group’s stated goals of establishing “a new Sudan based on freedom, justice, and equality.
