The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) said on Tuesday that its fighters had achieved a series of new battlefield gains across several fronts in western El-Obeid, amid what it described as a rapid collapse of forces aligned with the Islamic Movement.
In a statement released by the group’s spokesperson, the RSF reported that its troops inflicted “humiliating defeats” on the Islamic Movement’s forces and allied militia groups in the areas of Jebel Abu Sunun, Jebel Issa, and Al-Ayyara, west of El-Obeid. The RSF claimed the operations put an end to what it called the opposing forces’ “reckless ventures.”

According to the statement, RSF fighters killed hundreds of enemy combatants, captured large quantities of weapons and equipment, and seized dozens of military vehicles, with counting still underway. The RSF added that remaining opposing fighters fled toward the outskirts of El-Obeid, where RSF units continued to pursue them.
These claims could not be independently confirmed.

The RSF said its forces are continuing to advance from multiple axes “toward the last strongholds of terrorism,” asserting that the Islamic Movement’s forces and allied mercenary groups are experiencing a total collapse. The statement asserted that the RSF is nearing a “decisive victory” and framed the current operations as part of a struggle to bring about “a new Sudan founded on freedom, justice, and peace.”

The spokesperson concluded by honoring RSF personnel killed in recent battles.
