The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) issued a new statement on Tuesday claiming fresh battlefield gains against what it describes as forces of the Islamic Movement Army and allied militias in western El-Obeid, North Kordofan.
The statement, released by the RSF spokesperson, said updated field statistics show more than 290 fighters from the opposing side were killed during clashes in the Jebel Abu Sunun, Jebel Issa, and Al-Ayyara axes. The RSF had reported initial victories in the same areas earlier in the day.

According to the release, RSF units seized over 70 military vehicles equipped with full combat gear and destroyed more than 40 vehicles, including armored units and artillery-mounted platforms. The RSF also said it captured several weapons, among them 23mm cannons and 107mm rocket launchers.
These claims could not be independently verified.

The group stated that the ongoing series of advances strengthens what it described as its “full control” over most of the Kordofan region and brings it closer to what it calls a “decisive victory” over armed factions associated with the Islamic Movement.

The RSF framed the operations as part of a broader effort to eliminate “terrorist organizations” and end the dominance of the Islamic Movement over Sudan’s political and military landscape. The statement concluded with an expression of mourning for RSF personnel killed in the fighting.
