The Government of Peace has expressed deep concern and sorrow over the rapidly unfolding and dangerous developments in the Republic of Yemen, warning that escalating military actions threaten the country’s security and stability and could have far-reaching consequences for regional and international peace.
In an official statement issued on the latest developments, the government said it is closely monitoring the situation in Yemen amid an intensifying military escalation that risks further destabilizing the war-torn nation. The statement emphasized that the current trajectory poses a serious threat not only to Yemen’s internal security but also to the safety and stability of the wider region.
“The accelerating and grave developments taking place in our sisterly Republic of Yemen, accompanied by rising military escalation, are deeply alarming,” the statement said. “Such actions threaten Yemen’s security and stability and foreshadow serious repercussions for regional security as well as international peace and security.”
The Government of Peace warned that continued escalation could further complicate efforts to achieve a political settlement and deepen the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people, who have endured years of conflict.
The statement underscores growing international concern that renewed fighting in Yemen could reverse fragile de-escalation efforts and draw in regional actors, increasing the risk of a broader conflict.
Yemen has been gripped by conflict for more than a decade, with repeated attempts at ceasefires and political dialogue struggling to gain lasting traction. Recent military movements and heightened tensions have raised fears of a new phase of confrontation.
The Government of Peace called on all parties to act with restraint and to prioritize dialogue and peaceful solutions in order to safeguard Yemen’s stability and prevent further deterioration of security in the region.
