RAPID SUPPORT FORCES DENY DARFUR ATROCITY CLAIMS, LABEL REPORTS AS POLITICALLY Motivated FABRICATIONS.

KHARTOUM, Sudan – December 13, 2025.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) issued a strong denial today regarding media reports that accuse its troops of committing widespread violations against civilians in the Darfur region.
In a pivotal statement released by the official RSF spokesperson, the paramilitary group unequivocally refuted claims of mass detention and financial extortion, specifically addressing allegations that its forces were demanding ransoms from the relatives of detained civilians.
The RSF directly challenged a recent report published by The Washington Post, which cited what it described as "harrowing testimonies from survivors in difficult circumstances."
"Our forces affirm that what the Washington Post report relied upon... are nothing more than fabricated and recycled narratives," the statement read. The RSF characterized the claims as being "promoted by known political motives, in desperate attempts to undermine the reputation of our forces."
The RSF reaffirmed its dedication to protecting civilians, whom it described as central to the cause for which it is fighting: "to achieve justice for marginalized communities, lift societal oppression, and work to end the dominance of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood regime over the military establishment and the reins of power in Sudan."
Furthermore, the RSF called on both local and international media organizations to exercise accuracy and professionalism, urging them to rely on credible sources, particularly given the current political complexities in the nation. The group accused the "Port Sudan gang" (a term often used by the RSF to refer to the opposing faction, the Sudanese Armed Forces, and the current de facto government) of adopting a "misinformation approach" and fabricating false narratives, including exploiting simple people and "buying consciences" to serve narrow political agendas.
The statement concluded with an invocation for the group's "righteous martyrs" and the hashtags: #معركة_الديمقراطية (Battle for Democracy) and #حراس_الثورة_المجيدة (Guardians of the Glorious Revolution).
