KHARTOUM, Sudan – December 13, 2025.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) issued a strong and categorical denial late Friday evening, refuting claims that its forces were responsible for an alleged drone strike on a United Nations compound in the city of Kadugli.
The RSF statement was released in response to allegations made by what it referred to as the "Port Sudan gang, which is under the control of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group."
"The Rapid Support Forces categorically refute these lies and confirm that these allegations reflect a desperate and miserable attempt to fabricate flimsy accusations against our forces in a pursuit whose objectives are clear," the official spokesperson for the RSF stated.
The paramilitary group asserted that its record is "entirely free" of any attacks or targeting of international organizations and missions. On the contrary, the RSF claimed to have "documented and well-known positions" in protecting UN facilities and ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers.
The press release concluded by calling on all international organizations to exercise complete reliability and accuracy when assessing information and accusations, especially those originating from the "coup group in Port Sudan.".
The RSF has consistently used the term "Port Sudan gang" to refer to the opposing Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the current de facto government, linking them to the ousted regime of Omar al-Bashir and the Muslim Brotherhood. The denial comes amid escalating conflict and an intensifying information war between the two warring factions in Sudan.
