The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have strongly condemned what they described as a “terrorist attack” allegedly carried out using drones, targeting the town of Tine inside the Republic of Chad.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the RSF accused elements affiliated with the Sudanese army—referred to in the statement as linked to the Muslim Brotherhood—of executing the strike. The group claimed the attack resulted in the deaths of several innocent civilians.
According to the RSF, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the operation marked a dangerous escalation, extending the conflict beyond Sudan’s borders and posing a threat to regional stability.
The paramilitary force expressed its denunciation “in the strongest terms,” emphasizing the humanitarian impact of the incident and calling attention to the alleged targeting of civilians.
The claims could not be independently verified at the time of publication, and there was no immediate response from the Sudanese Armed Forces regarding the allegations.
The incident comes amid escalating tensions and ongoing clashes in Sudan’s western regions, particularly near border areas with Chad, raising concerns over the potential spillover of violence into neighboring countries.
