the constituency ahead of the 2027 General election.
Speaking during an interview, Makokha said his vision is to unlock the constituency's economic potential by addressing unemployment, strengthening agriculture and ensuring equitable distribution of public resources.
He argued that Kimilili's hardworking farmers, entrepreneurs and youthful population require leadership that prioritises practical solutions to everyday challenges.
Among his key priorities is improving transparency in the allocation of National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) bursaries and education infrastructure projects. He also pledged to champion youth and women empowerment through revolving enterprise funds, vocational training programmes and technical skills development aimed at promoting self-employment.
On agriculture, the parliamentary hopeful said he would work closely with local cooperatives to enhance maize, sugarcane and dairy farming by advocating for subsidised farm inputs, improved extension services and better market access for farmers.
Infrastructure development also features prominently in his agenda, with plans to improve feeder roads linking rural farming areas to major trading centres, including Kimilili Town, to ease transportation and boost local commerce.
Makokha's entry into the parliamentary race is expected to add momentum to what is shaping up to be a highly competitive contest in one of Bungoma County's politically significant constituencies.
As campaigns gradually gain pace ahead of the 2027 General Election, the aspirant called on residents of Kimilili Township, Maeni, Kibingei, Kamukuywa and Kimilili Rural wards to embrace issue-based politics and elect leaders based on their vision, integrity and commitment to community development.
