Hon. Joseph Mabishi is the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Chawia Ward in Taita Taveta County, serving in the Third County Assembly. As an elected representative, he is entrusted with the constitutional responsibilities of legislation, oversight, and representing the interests of the people of Chawia Ward.

Within the County Assembly, Mabishi has played an active role in committee work, particularly in matters concerning education and governance. He has served as Chairperson of the committee responsible for Early Childhood Development Education, Libraries and Vocational Training, where he led the committee's review of the Taita Taveta County Education Fund Bill, aimed at strengthening education support for learners across the county.
He has also served on the Environment, Natural Resources, Forestry and Mining Committee, contributing to discussions and oversight on environmental conservation, natural resource management, and sustainable development in Taita Taveta County.
Throughout his tenure, Hon. Mabishi has consistently advocated for improved access to education, better public services, and policies that enhance the welfare of residents in Chawia Ward. His participation in legislative debates and committee deliberations reflects his commitment to strengthening county governance and ensuring that development initiatives address the needs of local communities.
