HON. JOSEPH MABISHI STRENGTHENS LEADERSHIP ROLE IN TAITA TAVETA COUNTY ASSEMBLY.

Hon. Joseph Mabishi, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Chawia Ward, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping legislation and advancing development in Taita Taveta County through his leadership in the County Assembly.
Hon. Joseph Mabishi, the elected Member of County Assembly for Chawia Ward, speaking on matters of development, governance, and public service. 

Currently serving as the Delegated Committee Chairperson and Majority Chief Whip, Mabishi has emerged as a key figure in the Assembly, where he provides leadership on legislative business, policy oversight, and the coordination of the majority side in advancing the county's development agenda.

Over the years, Mabishi has been actively involved in committee work, particularly in the education sector. As the former Chairperson of the Committee on Early Childhood Development Education, Libraries and Vocational Training, he spearheaded the committee's consideration of the Taita Taveta County Education Fund Bill, an initiative aimed at expanding access to education and strengthening support for learners across the county.

He has also served on the Environment, Natural Resources, Forestry and Mining Committee, contributing to policy discussions and oversight efforts focused on environmental conservation, sustainable resource management, and responsible exploitation of the county's natural resources.

In his legislative role, Mabishi has consistently championed improved public service delivery, expanded educational opportunities, and people-centred development. His contributions to debates and committee deliberations have reflected a commitment to strengthening accountability, transparency, and effective governance within the county government.

As Majority Chief Whip, he plays a crucial role in coordinating legislative priorities, fostering cohesion among majority members, and ensuring the smooth conduct of Assembly business. His additional responsibility as Delegated Committee Chairperson further underscores the confidence placed in his leadership by fellow legislators.

PNU CONDEMNS KENYA KWANZA ’s MOVE TO WEAKEN FREE BASIC EDUCATION.

The Party of National Unity (PNU) has sharply criticized the Kenya Kwanza administration for slashing funding to free primary and secondary education in the 2025/26 national budget, warning that the move threatens to undo decades of progress and could become the regime’s political downfall.
