Nairobi, Kenya.
A new digital platform, Jumba App, has officially launched in Kenya, promising to simplify how builders, developers, and homeowners source construction materials. The app, developed by the tech-driven marketplace Jumba, provides a one-stop solution for accessing verified suppliers, comparing prices, and ordering essential materials such as cement, tiles, and steel — all from the convenience of a smartphone or computer.
The launch event, held in Nairobi, brought together industry leaders, government officials, major suppliers, contractors, and homeowners, who hailed the innovation as a game changer for the construction sector.
The Jumba App addresses long-standing challenges in the industry, including inconsistent pricing, unreliable suppliers, and delayed deliveries. By connecting buyers directly with trusted vendors, the platform enhances transparency, ensures timely deliveries, and allows users to make informed purchasing decisions.
“Our goal is to make construction sourcing simple, transparent, and efficient for everyone — from large developers to individual homeowners,” said the Jumba team during the launch. “We’re building a future where getting the right materials at the right price and time is no longer a struggle.”
Currently available within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area, the company plans to roll out the app across all 47 counties in Kenya in the coming months.
Founded in 2022, Jumba has positioned itself as a key player in digitizing Africa’s construction supply chain. Through its growing network of verified suppliers and technology-driven logistics, Jumba seeks to reduce project costs, save time, and support sustainable growth in the sector.
With Kenya’s construction industry projected to expand rapidly over the next decade, the Jumba App could play a crucial role in improving efficiency and accountability — helping builders and homeowners alike “build better, faster, and smarter.”
